Terry Myerson just announced on stage that, for the first year after Windows 10 launches, any device running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows Phone 8.1 will be able to upgrade to the latest version of MIcrosoft's OS for free. How exactly this program will work isn't clear just yet it'll certainly be subject to some hardware requirements, particularly for older machines running Windows 7. But a simplified upgrade path will likely do a lot to help Windows 10 adoption rather than dealing with a number of different versions of Windows and different upgrade costs, most consumers will simply take this free update and enjoy running Microsoft's latest.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">Beyond this, Myerson shared Microsoft's vision for Windows as a service, not just an operating system. The most worrying and in some ways impressive thing about the attack is that it was reportedly carried out by just a single individual. @AnonymousOwn3r, who has links to the hacking group ‘Anonymous’ posted earlier that they were individually behind the attack.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">This will surely cause people to think, can we reply on hosting companies to provide a reliable service? After all, if one of the largest providers in the world can be taken offline by an individual, is anyone safe?</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">Luckily I now have nothing to do with GoDaddy except as my domain registrar but I can share your pain at such an event.</div><h2 style="color: #333333; font-family: ff-cocon-web-pro, sans-serif;"><strong>What can be learnt?</strong></h2><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">What can you do to avoid an attack in the future? The short answer is don’t use GoDaddy or other similar companies to host mission critical sites. It amazes me that some of the largest and famous websites in the world, that have millions of dollars of funding, still use GoDaddy as their DNS provider. Seriously! It would only cost a few dollars, or in some cases, cents a month, to get an infinitely better service from a specialist DNS provider. For example, Amazon’s Route 53 DNS service, which MyTechBlog uses, is pay as you go and includes a service level agreement. If there was any downtime you would be eligible for compensation. Shop around and don’t just go for convenience or it might come back and haunt you later. Likewise don’t host a business website with GoDaddy or similar just to save a few dollars a month. It really isn’t worth it.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">By the time I have finished writing this post it seems that most of the websites affected have come back online. Why iOS 7 will go down like a lead ballon

They just laughed and said “The’re not doing that to my iPhone!”.</div><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">It’s just over a week until iOS 7 will become publicly available for the first time and I feel compelled to write this blog post as a warning of the events that are about to unfold. This will make Apple’s mapping software fiasco last year look like a company success.</div><h2 dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: ff-cocon-web-pro, sans-serif;">Apple has misunderstood the market</h2><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">I don’t like writing blog posts that find fault in companies, especially successful ones, but in this case I feel that Apple has completely misunderstood the market place. It isn’t a secret that Apple has some of the most passionate technology fans in the world; but are these fans the real users of the end products? For the last few years they have been calling for a new design and at last Apple has obeyed. The result though isn’t really what people were expecting. If the technology fans don’t like it, imagine what the average user will think. They like their iPhone’s the way they are<span style="line-height: 1.5em;">.</span></div><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">How much of the market do these Apple fans really fill? I’d be surprised if it is as much as 1%. The other 99% don’t really care about design and focus on the functionality of the device. Put simply:</div><h2 dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: ff-cocon-web-pro, sans-serif;">People don’t like change</h2><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">We have seen plenty of examples of big changes that have been met by end user outrage. Changing the design of iOS is on a scale of change we have never seen before. People use it everyday and rely on the functionality of their phones for their daily lives. When iOS 7 is released, there will be no instruction manual and users won’t be able to downgrade. The technology fans don’t have any fear in pressing buttons and seeing what happens. The other 99% of users don’t think this way.</span></div><h2 dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: ff-cocon-web-pro, sans-serif;">People will get confused</h2><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">Apple claims that iOS 7 is easy to use but I think they have seriously over estimated the average users ability to determine how to achieve simple tasks. The image belows some of the common tasks I believe are going to be completely confusing to the average user. Don’t laugh, they are easy but only when you know how.</div><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;"><img alt="ios7_confusing" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-877" height="448" src="http://cdn7.whealmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/ios7_confusing.png" style="border: none;" width="600" /></div><h2 dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: ff-cocon-web-pro, sans-serif;">So never change the design?</h2><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">I’m not saying that technology companies should never change the core design or features of their products, but let the user choose the right time. Put it this way, “You wouldn’t want to your house to be decorated without your permission”. Apple are going to practically force you to make this change and then won’t let you switch back.</div><h2 dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: ff-cocon-web-pro, sans-serif;">What will happen?</h2><div dir="ltr" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">Good question. I don’t think protests outside Apple stores is a far fetched suggestion. I am certain there will be a public outcry and without a doubt a loss of customers. Last year people waited until Google brought out a version of Google Maps before updating to iOS 6. A simple app isn’t going to solve the problem this time around, so version segmentation will almost certainly occur.</div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em;">We’ll just have to wait and see. Akhirnyaa...Hal yang dhizka takutkan selama ini terjadi.. :)<br />Setelah akhir-akhir ini banyak sekali akun-akun mediafire yang di suspended oleh mediafire, sekarang mungkin sudah giliran dhizka untuk merasakan hal tersebut.<br />Memang  sesak sekali rasanya, banyak sekali file-file disana yang bisa temen-temen download dan temen-temen pakai.<br />Karena itu semua kami sebagai admin dhizka.blogspot.com memohon maaf sebesar-besarnya atas kejadian ini, banyak sekali temen-temen yang sudah mendownload banyak part namun tidak selesai karena ini.<br /><div class="fullpost">Perlahan dhizka akan meng-upload ulang file-file yang telah terhapus, namun mungkin akan memakan waktu yang lama, karena jujur saja, untuk upload dhizka memanfaatkan koneksi kampus dan sekarangpun dhizka sudah jarang ke kampus dikarenakan di semester ini dhizka melaksanakan kerja magang.<br />File yang dihapus untung saja tidak semua, namun lumayan banyak, yaitu 18GB.
